STO Mouse Embryonic Fibroblast

The mouse embryonic fibroblast STO was obtained by Bernstein of the Ontario Cancer Institute in Toronto, Canada, from a group of continuously cultured SIM mouse embryonic fibroblasts. This cell is easy to transfect and is often used to prepare feeder layer cells treated with mitomycin C or irradiation, which can be used to maintain the undifferentiated state of stem cells. This cell is HPRT negative and sensitive to HAT medium, which is used to screen 6-thioguanine and ouabain resistance. It was reported that the cell line was negative for the detection of ectromelia virus. It was put into storage after identification without mycoplasma.

Gas phase: air, 95%; Carbon dioxide, 5%. Temperature: 37 ℃.

Freezing conditions: basic medium+5% DMSO+20% FBS (SD0200)
