SCC-4 cells are epithelioid cells isolated from the tongue of a 55 year old male squamous cell carcinoma patient. They form colonies in semi-solid culture medium, can form colonies in semi-solid culture medium, and do not induce differentiation through anchoring deprivation.

Culture media and additives/Complete Growth Medium and Culture Conditions:
90% DMEM (MD0100)+10% fetal bovine serum (SD0200)+SP (SD0008)+G/A (SD0038)
DMEM (high sugar) complete medium (article number: MD0123)
Gas phase: air, 95%; Carbon dioxide, 5%. Temperature: 37 ℃.
Freezing conditions: basic medium+5% DMSO+20% FBS
Complete cryopreservation solution: non-programmed cooling cell cryopreservation solution (low serum) (SD0001)
