U-118 MG Human Astroblastoma

Note: There is pollution. It is reported that glioblastoma cell lines U-118 MG (HTB-15) and U-138 MG (HTB-16) from different individuals have the same VNTR and similar STR patterns. U-118 MG and U-138 MG are genetically similar and have at least six derived marker chromosomes. This is from 1966 to 1969 One of the cell lines constructed by Ponten and colleagues from malignant glioma (others include ATCC HTB-14 and ATCC HTB-16 and ATCC HTB-17). In 1987, the mycoplasma contamination was removed by BM-Cycline culture for 6 weeks.
