U-87 MG Human Astroblastoma Cell

This is from 1966 to 1969 One of the cell lines constructed by Ponten and colleagues from malignant glioma (others include ATCC HTB-15, ATCC HTB-16 and ATCC HTB-17). The mycoplasma contamination was eliminated after sampling in September 1975.

Morphology: epithelial-like, adherent growth

90% MEM (MD0300) [90% minimum basic medium containing 2 mM L-glutamine and Earle's BSS Eagle adjusted to contain 1.5 g/L sodium bicarbonate, 0.1 mM non-basic amino acid and 1.0 mM sodium pyruvate]+10% FBS (SD0200)+G/A (SD0038)

Complete medium: MEM complete medium (article number: MD0301)

Gas phase: air, 95%; Carbon dioxide, 5%. Temperature: 37 ℃.
