4T1 Mouse Breast Cancer Cells

4T1 is a 6-thioguanine resistant cell line obtained from 410.4 tumor strain without mutation screening. When injected into BALB/c mice, 4T1 spontaneously produces highly metastatic tumors, which can metastasize to the lung, liver, lymph nodes and brain, while forming an initial focus at the injection site. It is not necessary to remove the initial focus when inducing metastasis. The growth and metastasis characteristics of 4T1 cells in BALB/c mice are very similar to those in human breast cancer. This tumor is an animal model of human stage VI breast cancer. 4T1 - induced tumor has similar dynamics of metastasis after surgery and without surgery, and can be used as a model after surgery and without surgery. Compared with other tumor models, due to the anti-6-thioguanine static property of 4T1, small metastatic cell clusters (as little as 1) can also be detected in many remote organs.
