ME-180 Human Cervical Epidermal Carcinoma Cells

This cell line originated from an invasive squamous cell carcinoma with irregular cell colonies and no significant keratinization. Banded junctions can be observed between cells in monolayer culture, and cytoplasmic tension filaments can also be observed. Mycoplasma contamination was found and removed in 1970. Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) α Inhibit the growth of ME-180. This cell line contains human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA and has higher homology with HPV-39 than HPV-18. It was identified as free of mycoplasma/STR and put into storage.
