SK-BR-3 [SKBR3] Human Breast Cancer Cell

This cell line was isolated from the pleural effusion of a 43 year old white female patient with breast cancer by TrempeG and OldLJ in 1970. The submicroscopic characteristics of the cell include microfilaments and desmosomes, hepatic glycogen granules, large lysosomes, and bundles of cytoplasmic filaments; Overexpression of HER2/c-erb-2 gene product.
