MCF7 [MCF-7] Human Breast Cancer Cell

This cell was obtained from a 69-year-old female. MCF-7 cells retained the characteristics of several differentiated mammary epithelial cells, including the ability to process estradiol through cytoplasmic estrogen receptors and form round complexes (domes). The cell contains Tx-4 oncogene. tumor necrosis factor α (TNF alpha) can inhibit the growth of MCF-7 cells. Anti-estrogen treatment cells can regulate the secretion of IGFBP's.

Tissue source: adenocarcinoma, breast, pleural effusion.

Morphology: epithelial-like, adherent growth

Medium Formulation:

90% DMEM (MD0100)+10% fetal bovine serum (SD0200)+G/A (SD0038)

Complete medium: DMEM complete medium (MD0120)

Gas phase: air, 95%; Carbon dioxide, 5%. Temperature: 37 ℃.

Freezing conditions: basic medium+5% DMSO+20% FBS
