MDA-MB-468 Human Breast Cancer Cells

This cell was isolated from the pleural effusion of a 51 year old black woman with metastatic breast cancer by CailleauR in 1977. Although the G6PD allele of the donor tissue is heterozygous, this cell line always displays the G6PDA phenotype. There is a G → A mutation in codon 273 of P53 gene, resulting in Arg → His substitution. 1 on each cell × 106 EGF receptors.
