MEG-01 human megakaryoblastic leukemia cells

MEG-01 cell line is a chronic myeloid leukemia obtained from the bone marrow cells of a patient with congenital megakaryocyte crisis in the medical school of Nagoya University, Nagoya, Japan, in 1983. This cell line is a suitable host for transfection. Cytoplasmic factor VIII and surface GPIIb/IIIa of host cells are positive, and periodate Schiff (PAS) reaction, α- Naphthyl acetate esterase and acid phosphatase.
