Recombinant Human Insulin (rhInsulin)

        Insulin has a wide range of functions, including regulating the metabolism of fat and protein and promoting cell growth. The function of insulin derives from its effect on cells, and then causes the overall response of tissues and even the body. Generally, insulin can be divided into three categories at the cellular level: metabolism, growth-promoting effect, and mixed metabolism and growth-promoting effect. The metabolic regulation of insulin on cells is mainly mediated by its interaction with insulin receptor (IR) on cell membrane, while the growth promotion of insulin on cells is mediated by its interaction with insulin-like growth factor receptor (IG) on cell membrane. In serum-free cell culture medium, insulin is often added to maintain cell growth, regulate the uptake, utilization and storage of glucose, amino acids and fatty acids, and inhibit the decomposition of glycogen, protein and fat.
