293 [HEK-293] Human Embryonic Kidney Cells

Although earlier reports said that this cell contains the left and right ends of the adenovirus 5 DNA genome, it is now clear that only the left end sequence exists. This cell line is suitable for titrating human adenovirus. The cells express an unusual cell-surface receptor of vitellin, which is composed of integrin beta-1 subunit and vitellin alpha-v subunit. Ad5 insertion fragment was cloned and sequenced. The results showed that the base 1-4344 was inserted into chromosome 19 (19q13.2).
