H9c2 (2-1) Rat Cardiomyocytes

Kim es and B. Brandt subcloned the H9c2 (2-1) cell line from the cloned cell line derived from BD1X rat embryonic heart tissue. It shows many characteristics of skeletal muscle. The myoblasts in this cell line can fuse to form multinucleated myotubes and react to the stimulation of acetylcholine. If the serum concentration in the culture medium drops to 1%, the fusion occurs quickly. According to ATCC, this cell line can be used for the research of cardiovascular diseases and passed the detection of mycoplasma in this library.

Freezing conditions: basic medium+5% DMSO+20% FBS
