L6 Rat Myoblast

The L6 myoblast cell line was isolated by Yaffe from the first two generations of primary culture of rat thigh muscle in the presence of methylcholanthrene. L6 cells fuse in culture medium to form multinucleated myotubes and striated muscle fibers. The degree of cell fusion decreases with the increase of the number of generations, so the cells should be frozen at the lower generation stage and periodically re-clonned to select the cells with strong fusion ability. If the cells in the culture container are allowed to grow full, the myogenic components of this cell line will be rapidly exhausted. The detection showed that the limb bone malformation virus (mouse pox) was negative. Through mycoplasma detection in this library.
