HBL-100 Human Mammary Epithelial Cells Integrating SV40 Gene

HBL-100 is an epithelial cell. E.V. Gaffney and his colleagues established it from the milk of a donor without a family history of breast cancer. The karyotype of the cultured cells was abnormal at the 7th generation. Electron micrographs showed microfilaments, tension fibrils and desmosomes. Southern transfer showed that there was an integrated SV40 virus gene, which could not be regarded as a normal cell.
