T84 Human Colon Adenocarcinoma Lung Metastasis Cells

T84 cell line is a transplantable human cancer cell line established from the lung metastasis of a 72-year-old male patient with colon cancer. The tumor tissue was subcutaneously inoculated into BALB/c nude mice and continuously transplanted. [26072] In the process of transplantation in nude mice, the cell line has always maintained the original tissue characteristics of colon cancer. [26072] After passage of 23 generations in thymus-free mice, the T84 cell line was established. These cells monolayer grew to saturation and showed tight connections and desmosomes between the contact cells. [1155] There are many receptors related to polypeptide hormones and neurotransmitters and maintain targeted electrolyte transport. [1155] This cell line showed tight junctions and desmosomes in contact cells. [1155] Keratin immunoperoxidase staining was positive.
