Products Description

Rat tendon stem cells were isolated from tendon tissue; Tendons are cord-like or membranous dense connective tissue at both ends of the muscle abdomen, which is convenient for muscle attachment and fixation. The tendon of a muscle is attached to two or more different bones. It is due to the traction of the tendon that the contraction of the muscle drives the movement of different bones. Each piece of skeletal muscle is divided into two parts: muscle belly and muscle tendon. The muscle belly is composed of muscle fibers, red and soft, and has the ability to contract. The muscle tendon is composed of dense connective tissue, white and hard, and has no ability to contract. Tendons attach skeletal muscles to bones. Tendons of the long muscle are mostly round cords, while those of the latissimus muscle are broad and thin, membranous, also called aponeurosis. The muscle belly here is the commonly known red muscle, and the tendon is the white muscle, which controls the strength, explosive force and endurance of the muscle. Tendon stem cells (TSCs) are mesenchymal stem cells derived from tendon tissue. They have the potential to differentiate in multiple directions and differentiate abnormally under the action of exogenous prostaglandin E2. When cultured in vitro, this cell group has the common characteristics of stem cells such as clonogenic ability, self-renewal and multi-directional differentiation potential. Tendon stem cells can be induced to differentiate into adipocytes, chondroid cells and osteocytes; In the nude mouse model, tendon stem cells can also form tendon-like tissue, cartilage-like tissue and tendon-bone connective tissue. Compared with bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, TSCs have better clonogenic and proliferative abilities, higher expression of cartilage related genes and tendon related genes, and better osteogenic, lipogenic and chondrogenic abilities, so they can be used as seed cells in tissue engineering.
