RLE-6TN (rat lung epithelial T antigen negative) cell line is derived from 56-day-old male F344 rat alveolar type II cells. The airway was perfused with streptomycin solution. In the fifth generation, SV40 (pRSV-T DNA) was transfected into alveolar type II cells by liposome. The expression of SV40-T antigen was negative by nuclear immunostaining and PCR, indicating that these cells were obtained by spontaneous immortalization.
The cell line has the characteristics of alveolar type II cells, such as lipid inclusion bodies (phosphine 3R staining and electron microscopy) and the expression of cytokeratin 8 and 19; The cells did not express alkaline phosphatase activity.
It is reported that several chemokines expressed by RLE-6TN cells are similar to primary cultured alveolar type II cells.

90% 1640 (MD0200)+10% fetal bovine serum (SD0200)+G/A (SD0038)
Complete medium: 1640 complete medium (article number: MD0201)
Gas phase: air, 95%; Carbon dioxide, 5%. Temperature: 37 ℃.
Freezing conditions: basic medium+5% DMSO+20% FBS
Complete cryopreservation solution: non-programmed cooling cell cryopreservation solution (low serum) (SD0001)
