Et-1a Human Esophageal epithelial cells

HET-1A cell line was obtained from human esophageal autopsy tissue in 1986 by transfection of plasmid pRSV-T, which is composed of RSV-LTR promoter and the sequence encoding 40 T antigen of simian virus. The cells have been doubled for more than 250 times. Studies on growth factors show that HET-1A is stimulated by calcium, and is also affected by fetal bovine serum and transforming growth factor β 1 and transforming growth factor β 2. Fumarisin B1 produced growth inhibition and increased apoptosis in HET-1A cells. Synthetic retinoic acid CD437 (6 - [3 - (1-adamantine) - 4-hydroxyphenyl] - 2-naphthoic acid (AHPN/CD437) 0 induces apoptosis of esophageal squamous epithelial HET-1A cells through caspase-3 dependent pathway. This cell line may be helpful to study the role of hypothetical esophageal carcinogens.
