KYSE-30 human esophageal squamous cell cells

KYSE-30 was established from an untreated 64-year-old male with esophageal cancer. Tumor samples were taken from the mucosal surface of highly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. The KYSE-30 cell line was established using the tumor originally transplanted into nude mice. It is reported that the doubling time of these cells in the exponential growth phase is 20.8 hours. There are p53 mutations and 12-fold amplification of c-erb at the splicing receptor site of intron 6. KYSE-30 cells express a large number of epidermal growth factor receptors, 1.2x10000000 sites/cell.
