Jeko-1 Human Mantle Cell Lymphoma Cell

A giant cell variant of a female patient with mantle cell lymphoma showed leukemic transformation. The MCL cell line JeKo-1 was established from its peripheral blood mononuclear cells. JeKo-1 cells were negative for Epstein-Barr virus and expressed IgM with a B-cell phenotype. Cells over-expressed cyclin D1, Bcl-2, c-Myc and Rb proteins. The rearrangement of Bcl-1/J (H) gene was confirmed by PCR. JeKo-1 cells were highly tumorigenic in SCID mice.
