SK-N-BE (2) Human Neuroblastoma Cells

In November 1972, SK-N-BE (2) neuroblastoma cell line was established from the bone marrow puncture of a child with diffuse neuroblastoma (1 year old, 10 months old, male) who received multiple chemotherapy and radiotherapy. This cell shows moderate levels of dopamine- β- Hydroxylase activity. It is reported that the saturation concentration of SK-N-BE (2) cells exceeds 1x106 cells/cm2. The cell morphology is diverse, some have long synapses, and some are epithelial-like. Cells will gather, form clumps and float.

Culture media and additives/Complete Growth Medium and Culture Conditions:

45% MEM(MD0300)+45% F12 (MD0500)+10% fetal bovine serum (SD0200)+SP (SD0008)+G/A (SD0038)

Complete medium: MEM/F12 complete medium (article No.: MD1207)

Gas phase: air, 95%; Carbon dioxide, 5%. Temperature: 37 ℃.

Freezing conditions: basic medium+5% DMSO+20% FBS

Complete cryopreservation solution: non-programmed cooling cell cryopreservation solution (low serum) (SD0001)
