CHO-K1（Suspended）China hamster ovarian cell subline (suspended)

The CHO-K1 cell line is a subclonal of the parental CHO cell line obtained in 1957 from an ovarian biopsy of an adult female Chinese hamster. CHO-K1 is a subclone of the CHO cell line. These cells are easily transfected and secrete very few endogenous proteins, making them widely used for in vitro expression of recombinant proteins. CHO-K1 cells (suspension) are a suspension growth phenotype obtained by adherently growing the Chinese hamster ovary substrain CHO-K1 through "serum-free acclimation," combining high expression of the original strain with the advantages of industrial amplification. Under serum-free culture conditions, CHO-K1 cells (suspension) can achieve high-density culture and obtain high-yield exogenous proteins during transient protein expression, making them one of the mainstream "factories" for recombinant protein, antibody, and vaccine production.
