Products Description
Mouse microglia C8-B4, also known as C8B4.
C8-B4 cells are isolated and formed from the cerebellum of 8-day-old mice and spontaneously immortalized in vitro tissue culture. They are a cell line with astrocyte or microglial characteristics. After primary isolation for four months, these cells exhibit various morphologies and slow proliferation, then gradually enrich to form a homogeneous cell population. These cells express classic microglial markers (such as MAC1, F4/80, 2-4G2), and since they do not express differentiation antigens present in the early stages of monocyte lineages, they appear to originate from identified microglial precursors. Additionally, C8-B4 cells synthesize CD4 molecules and produce and release large amounts of glutamic acid. These cells can be used for immunology and neuroscience research.
