B16-F1 Mouse skin melanoma cells

B16-F1 cells were isolated from the skin of C57BL/6J mice with melanoma, appearing as a mixture of spindle-shaped and epithelioid cells. B16-F1 cells are also one of the clonal sublineages of B16 cells (B16→B16-F0→B16-F1→B16-F5→B16-F10) and can produce melanin. When B16-F1 cells are cultured with DMEM, they are prone to rapid melanin accumulation and may secrete large amounts of melanin.
