T98G [T98-G] Human glioblastoma

Human glioblastoma cell T98G [T98-G] was isolated from the brain tumor tissue of a 61-year-old white male with glioblastoma multiforme. It is an immortalized fibroblast-like tumor cell line. It was reported that these cells do not form tumors in nude mice, with a karyotype of supracuploid (chromosome mode 128-132). When the culture system is insufficient or cell density is too high, the cell enters the G1 phase. T98G cells are suitable transfection hosts for use in neuroscience and cell cycle research.
