Acc-2 Human salivary gland adenoid cystic carcinoma cells
No.:CD0840
Price: ¥2000.00
Products Description
Acc-2 cells originated from adenocystic carcinoma of the small salivary gland on the right palate of a 28-year-old woman, exhibiting epithelioid morphology. It can express keratin. Cells retain distinct epithelioid and adenoid features, such as polygonal epithelioid cell shapes, desmosome junctions, and tensile fibrillary bundles visible in the cytoplasm. Keratin immunofluorescence staining has confirmed the presence of keratin medium fibers in the cytoplasm—these are common features of epithelial-derived cells. It provides a good model for studying the histology and various other characteristics of salivary gland adenoidal cystic carcinoma. However, with passage culture and inter-laboratory transmission, this cell line may be contaminated by HELA. It has been reported that STR typing results for Acc-2 are partially consistent with HELA cells (partial homology), and cross-contamination with hela cells is possible.
