Human acute myeloid leukemia cell MOLM-16, also known as MOLM16.
MOLM-16 cells were established in 1999 by Japanese scientist Matsuo Y and others, isolated from the peripheral blood cells of a 77-year-old woman suffering from acute myeloid leukemia. After failing chemotherapy, the patient experienced recurrent acute myeloid leukemia (AML-M0 type). MOLM-16 cells originate from pro-megakaryocytic leukemia cells of differentiated acute leukemia, possess a myelogen/NK precursor phenotype, and are commonly used in leukemia-related research.
