NCI-H69 [H69] Small cell lung cancer cells

This cell line is aneuploid, capable of forming colonies in soft agar and retaining small cell carcinoma morphology, ultrastructure, and APUD cell characteristics. The cells grow in clusters, making accurate counting impossible. Cells show positive keratin staining. These cells can adapt to growth in shake flask or spinning flask systems. After amplification, the N-myc gene is expressed with mRNA and protein. C-myc mRNA is expressed lowly, but no protein is expressed. It expresses c-myb, v-fes, v-fms, c-raf 1, Ha-ras, Ki-ras, and N-ras mRNA. Additionally, these cells grow in large clusters suspended, making survival rates impossible to measure. During routine culture, the culture medium usually contains a large amount of cell debris that is almost impossible to remove, which is normal. Bispecific antibodies can also be added to the medium to prevent bacterial contamination.
