WI-38 VA-13 subline 2RA（WI38 VA13） Human embryonic lung cells (SV40-transformed lung fibroblasts)

WI-38 VA-13 subline 2RA is a fibroblast line isolated from the lung of a white female patient. This cell lineage was established in 1964, derived from lung fibroblasts from female embryos at three months gestational age, and is transformed by SV-40. This cell line is derived from WI-38 cells. WI-38 cells infected with low-titer SV40 virus were successfully passed and cloned to obtain multiple sublines. Among them, the 2RA subline contains SV40 neo(T) and transfer antigen, thereby altering the characteristics of its limited cell line and enabling continuous passage under conventional conditions.
