HL-1 (mouse cardiomyocytes)

Hl-1 myocardial cell line is a permanent mouse myocardial cell line, which can continuously divide and spontaneously contract while maintaining the differentiated cardiac phenotype. HL-1 can be continuously passaged without losing its differentiated cardiomyocyte phenotype, including morphological, biochemical and electrophysiological characteristics. HL-1 cells have been used to study the signal, electrical, metabolic and transcriptional regulatory functions of normal myocardial cells, and to solve pathological conditions, such as hypoxia, hyperglycemia-hyperinsulinemia, apoptosis and ischemia-reperfusion.

HL-1 is derived from AT-1 subcutaneous tumor of female adult C57BL/6J mice. The parent AT-1 was originally derived from the atrial tumor growing in transgenic mice. The expression of SV40 large t antigen targeted the atrial myocytes through the atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) promoter.
