SH-SY5Y Human Neuroblastoma Cell

The human neuroblastoma cell line was established in 1970. It is a subline of neuroblastoma SK-N-SH cell line after three times of cloning (SK-N-SH → SH-SY → SH-SY5 → SH-SY5Y). It is reported that the saturation density of SH-SY5Y cells is more than 1000000/cm2, and the cells express moderate dopamine β Hydroxylase activity. In the later stage, it was found that the cells were slightly polluted. For details, see: Probable cell line: Partially contaminated Some laboratories that are redistributing this cell line are in fact redistributing a coordinated cell line of mouse origin (PubMed=25182563) were identified by STR and put into storage.
