SK-OV-3 [SKOV-3; SKOV3] Human Ovarian Cancer Cells

SK-OV-3 was isolated from ascites of women with ovarian tumors by G. Trempe and L.J. Old in 1973. It is reported that this cell is resistant to tumor necrosis factor and several cytotoxic drugs including diphtheria toxin, cisplatin and adriamycin, but this library has not been verified. The tumor was induced in nude mice and formed moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma consistent with ovarian carcinoma in situ.
