Periretinal Cells of Human Retina

HK-1 cells (full name: NPC/HK-1) are a human nasopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma cell line established by Huang et al. at the University of Hong Kong in 1979-1980. Derived from the recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissue of a 58-year-old male patient 17.5 years after radiotherapy, it is currently one of the most widely used in vitro models of nasopharyngeal carcinoma internationally.

Morphology: Epithelioid, monolayer adherent growth
