Human embryonic kidney cells: 293 cells, low passage are obtained by transforming human embryonic kidney cells using sheared adenovirus 5 DNA. This cell contains and expresses early segment1 of adenovirus 5. They can complement E1-inactivated adenovirus mutants and vectors, allowing them to grow. In DNA transfection detection, they are particularly effective receptor cells. For most, if not all, human adenovirus growth and lysozyme tests perform well. These cells are widely used for the reproduction and titration of E1 inactivated mutants and adenovirus vectors caused by deletion or substitution of E1 sequences. Therefore, they are used to construct adenovirus vectors. For constructing adenovirus vectors, it is best to use low-generation cells, generally no more than 40 generations. Proper cell culture methods are crucial for maintaining the excellent characteristics of this cell strain.
