Products Description

Human duodenal adenocarcinoma cells HuTu 80, also known as HuTu-80, HUTU 80, HUTU-80, Hutu-80, etc. These cells were isolated from the tissue of the small intestine (duodenum) of a 53-year-old white man suffering from intestinal adenocarcinoma. A single HuTu 80 cell contains up to 6,000 frogretin receptor sites. These cells function as intestinal L cells and serve as excellent models for intestinal endocrine differentiation. These cells can also be used to study how gut hormones respond to food intake. This is a pseudodiploid human cell line, with chromosomes ranging from 42 to 48 (mode 46), and a polyploid incidence of 68%. Reportedly, these cells are tumorigenic in nude mice, forming highly differentiated papillary adenocarcinoma (Grade I), making them useful for cancer and drug research.
