AGS-Luc

The cell line was derived from an untreated resected tumour fragment. The plate rate was 34% in the medium described below. Mycoplasma infection was eliminated. This is the labelled Luc cell line.

Luciferase is an oxidase that glows in the presence of a substrate (D-luciferin) in living organisms, a process known as bioluminescence. The most common luciferase genes are from a family of light-producing enzymes called firefly luciferase 1 and 2. 

In preclinical studies, small animal live imaging plays a crucial role in visualising physiological processes, disease progression and therapeutic development. Luciferase (luc) activated cell lines by bioluminescence imaging (BLI)1,2 provide a simple, high-throughput and robust method for quantitatively assessing tumour burden and tumour response to therapy in subject animals.

Luc cell labeling offers several advantages, such as:

(1) Non-invasive real-time whole-body in vivo tumor monitoring and imaging 

(2) Continuous assessment of tumor progression and treatment response in the same animal

(3) Metastasis assessment

(4) Reduced need for animal sacrifice

AGS-Luc adopts the LUC labelling system with stable rotation, if the fluorescence expression is not strong, 2ug/ml puromycin can be used to screen for 48 hours and then discard the floating cells and replace them with the normal culture system, which can improve the fluorescence expression of the cells, and it is suitable for experiments such as small animal imaging.
